so basically he is happy he got freebsd on a sparc machine. that should run
better right? i know solaris runs MUCH better on sparc than on x86. but that
might not be so much the hardware than the way the software is written for
the hardware.

It is the boot messages from an UltraSparc 5 system running FreeBSD.
Currently, it is only working in single user mode, but will become a
fully functional FreeBSD system in due course.
