The answer to your sendmail question is yes, you can use
the mail hub to send messages, if you like editing
sendmail.cf (i do) look for the "Smart relay host"
and add your linux mail hub. An even better solution is
to use ssmtp, it is send only mail and is good when you
do not receive messages. Look in ports.
