I'm not sure the best direction for you to go.

The 9000 series (9500, 9550) 3ware cards use a different driver than the 
7000 or 8000 series. In NetBSD (and Free, I think), they are the twa and 
twe drivers, respectively. The "tw" is Three Ware, and "a" for Apache, and 
"e" for Escalade (sp?).

So it might be driver porting time. :-(
