[SDBUG] new to FreeBSD, install on laptop

Hello folks,

I am new here, looking for nearest BUG in Orange County, CA.

I like the single tread development and the add security of FreeBSD, and
the ease of ports.

My laptop is HP Duo, 2RAM, 60 SATA Gig, Belkin PCMCIA 802.11b/g

 

I can't install PCBSD(hdd not detected) so FreeBSD instead. I have
FreeBSD 6 Unleashed as a reference book but there's several items I can
not get to work on my laptop. For example, I can't get USB, audio, and
WiFi using WPA to work yet. I try google many how-to's and check out the
forum but there seems to be less materials out there. By the way I come
from the Linux Debian world which I still use. 

Hope someone can point me to right directions for my laptop issue.
